The fastest way to understand if a company fits you is to talk to the people inside it. During Omek Career Day breakout rooms you’ll hear directly from team members about their work, their path, and what their day-to-day looks like.
We also know it can be hard to think of the right question in the moment, so we’ve kept it simple. Use the questions below as a guide, or let them spark your own.
Diversity & Belonging
- Are there bicultural professionals within your team?
- How does your team embrace different perspectives or cultural backgrounds?
- How is belonging reflected in the day-to-day life of the company?
- How does the company ensure equitable opportunities for employees from different backgrounds?
- Are there employee resource groups (ERGs) or internal communities that support diversity and inclusion?
- How does leadership model inclusive behaviour?
- If your team had a “Bring Your Culture to Work” day, what would you personally share?
Learning & Development
- What does the onboarding process look like?
- Do you feel your job provides you with new challenges to overcome?
- What types of internal growth or mobility opportunities exist?
- What’s the most unexpected skill you’ve picked up there? Something not in your job description!
- How does the company tend to evolve over time?
- How transparent is communication about restructuring, layoffs, or organizational changes?
- What support is available for employees who want to upskill or transition into a different role?
Work Operations
- What are the work-from-home policies, and how flexible are they?
- Could you walk us through a typical workday? Where do you work from? How many meetings do you usually have? What tools or software do you use most?
- What is the management culture like? Is it more results-driven or more trust-based?
- How does collaboration work across departments?
- If your team had a secret “hack” to get through busy weeks, what would it be?
- How accessible are managers or leadership to employees?
- How does the company handle feedback, both giving and receiving it?

- What qualities do you look for in candidates who stand out?
