In solidarity
Omek is a community rooted in championing and advancing people of African descent — a people which has been historically disenfranchised. Collectively we have witnessed the violent oppression in the historical lands of Palestine, Sudan, Congo, Haiti and beyond.
We recognize there are linkages between all struggles and layered trauma embedded in each. These linkages are rooted in systems of oppression and control, historical injustices, dehumanization, racism and ethnic division. We firmly stand for social justice, human dignity, and equal rights for all.
As we grow alongside our members, Omek will continuously strive to amplify our collective voices globally and keep reflecting these values in our work.
