What we stand for

Founded in 2019, Omek is a membership-based community connecting biculturals of African descent with each other, with brands, and resources.

Based in Amsterdam with global outreach, our process is two-fold. First, we create programs and events that make connecting and collaborating simple within biculturals of African descent and allies. We then work with partners to bring insight and access to a diverse talent pool, providing the tools for sustained growth.

Join our team

We are looking for candidates who understand and live Omek values, and have a track record of success in improving engagement, implementing new processes or procedures, and creating an environment for collaboration and innovative thinking. We are building something new, and exciting, and we genuinely believe our community has the power to change the world.

Omek is entering its scaling phase and seeks a passionate community expert to lead our growth efforts with a great capacity for problem-solving and adaptability to handle roadblocks and challenges. As we scale from 2K members to 10K, you'll play a pivotal role in driving community engagement, content curation, and membership programming.

The ideal candidate will be an engaged member in one or several communities, possess a deep understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) principles, coupled with a passion for creating meaningful connections and driving engagement among individuals from diverse backgrounds.

The role will split across different areas and will be responsive to needs. You have a high autonomy to shape and drive processes, ensuring organization and quality. You will be collaborating closely with our team distributed across the world.

Location is flexible, but working within the Central European time zone is required. This role is part-time (20 hours per week) for three months starting in December 2024. This is a paid, freelance position with the possibility of an extension.
