Nike approached Omek with a specific set of objectives. They aimed to enhance the diversity of their digital department, streamline their hiring procedures, and establish a talent pool for future job openings.
We worked closely with the hiring and business teams to understand their unique asks and challenges — developing a tailored approach suited for their needs.
The program kicked off with our recruitment team carefully selecting a group of top candidates from the tech and digital field.
Over six weeks, participants had a chance to interact with Nike's leadership and recruitment teams. They participated in workshops, tackled assignments, and gained firsthand insights into Nike's work environment.
Our team played a pivotal role in the program's concept development, communication rollout, community engagement, session moderation, interview prep, and post-session feedback.
The atmosphere from the moment the Nike team and candidates connected was incredibly positive, with everyone feeling like they were all on the same page, supporting and motivating each other.
An open role was quickly filled by one of our candidates. Additionally, 70% of the other participants received recommendations to proceed in the hiring process, earning them a spot on the shortlist for future job openings at Nike.
This program not only provided support to the community but also fostered a sense of unity and focus among Nike’s internal teams.

Ricki Stevenson, founder of Black Paris Tours, has served as its creative thinker and CEO since its inception in 1998. Stevenson, a native of Oakland, California, is a former TV-news anchor, international travel reporter and talk-show host.
She holds a master’s degree in History from Stanford University, with an emphasis on African and African American studies. Ricki began dreaming of life in Paris at three years old, when her mother, a former professional dancer, took her to see Josephine Baker perform. She was ten when her Mom took her to hear James Baldwin speak in California. Ten years later Ricki found herself interviewing Baldwin for a New York City radio network.
Mme. Stevenson says the idea for Black Paris Tours grew out of her experiences as a United Nations reporter and a travel reporter….always looking for and finding amazing, untold stories of Black history dating back to the beginning of all history!
